Interpretation Panels – Tales & Trails Park

In 2023, Middlesex launched the Tales & Trails project, an outdoor interpretive trail designed to connect the community to its territory through storytelling, discovery, and walking. Located in a linear park along the trails, this project transforms a simple walk into an educational and immersive experience.
Signalisation Kalitec was commissioned for the manufacturing and installation of interpretation panels placed along the trail, as well as for the welcome sign marking the official entrance to the site.
Discrete, legible, and durable signage
The panels were designed to integrate harmoniously into the natural environment:
- slender structures on painted steel posts
- inclined panels offering an ergonomic reading angle
- sleek design that emphasizes content without distracting the visitor from the landscape
Arranged along the path, the signs punctuate the walk and invite users to stop, read, and reflect, while maintaining fluid and safe circulation.
An installation designed for outdoor use
Made from robust and durable materials, the panels are designed to withstand outdoor conditions: climatic variations, prolonged sun exposure, and frequent use. Each unit was installed with precision to ensure optimal stability, without harming existing landscaping.
The main sign, "Welcome to Tales & Trails", installed at the park entrance, acts as a visual landmark and clearly establishes the project's identity, while highlighting its objective: to connect the community through storytelling and the trail.
A project focused on citizen experience
Through its understated and functional approach, the signage created by Kalitec fully supports the educational mission of the Tales & Trails project. The panels become true tools of cultural and community mediation, encouraging appropriation of the site by citizens of all ages.
