City of Granby, Quebec
Aiming to enhance public space safety while asserting a strong and distinctive urban identity, the City of Granby entrusted Signalisation Kalitec with the design and manufacturing of fully customized bollards, integrated into various strategic areas of the city.
The objective was clear: to go beyond the simple protective function and transform bollards into meaningful elements of street furniture, directly linked to the places they occupy and the citizens who frequent them.
Bollards That Tell Their Story
Each area targeted by the City of Granby had its own uses and identity. Kalitec therefore developed several tailor-made concepts, adapted to their immediate environment.
Near family areas, pencil-shaped bollards, available in several vibrant colors, were designed to create a playful and welcoming environment. These elements evoke childhood, learning, and creativity, while ensuring the safe demarcation of pedestrian areas.
Near the park, spindle-shaped bollards were installed. Their slender and organic silhouette blends naturally into the landscape, echoing the recreational and calming character of the site. Their discreet yet distinctive design structures the space without distorting it.
Near the Léonard-Grondin Sports Centre, Kalitec created hockey stick-shaped bollards, highlighting the importance of sport and community life in this activity hub. These bollards thus become true identity markers, instantly recognizable and closely linked to the purpose of the place.
Custom Design and Manufacturing
Each bollard model was the subject of specific design work, combining design, engineering, and durability. Made from robust materials adapted to Quebec's climatic conditions, the bollards provide effective protection while maintaining their aesthetic integrity over time.
The shapes, proportions, and finishes were carefully studied to respect safety requirements, the visual coherence of the spaces, and the unique personality of each site.
A Turnkey Project
Signalisation Kalitec managed the entire project, including:
