Our baffles are made of robust and corrosion-resistant materials. They are also resistant to discoloration due to UV rays. Our products are designed to last. The baffles are made of 100% aluminum.
In road safety, a chicane is a physical road layout that creates an artificial deviation in the trajectory (in an "S" shape). By forcing drivers to weave slightly, it naturally reduces speed without the discomfort of speed bumps.
Kalitec offers two ways to install your chicanes. The first option is with a concrete foundation, but this can be costly. To help municipalities save money, Kalitec offers a second option: a driven pile. This is driven into the ground with a welded plate that sits flush with the ground.
In addition, this option also includes a cover plate for winter, which secures the hole to prevent dust, debris, and snow from entering. For more information, please consult our technical documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Chicanes are effective in moderating speeding, enhancing the safety of road users, particularly pedestrians and cyclists. They optimize traffic flow and transform high-risk areas into safer spaces.
Traffic calming chicanes can restrict access for emergency vehicles. This is why Kalitec's rotating chicane system is essential. It allows authorized vehicles to pass through, thereby securing public spaces.
